lost Mac partition / data

Hi
I have a USB drive here that is used on MacOS X.
My friend tried to format a pen drive and accidentally wiped this drive. It is a 1TB USB drive.
I've used TestDisk dozens of times on fat/ntfs etc.

The question is can I recover the data using TestDisk & can I achieve this on a PC as I have no Mac.
