Seagate Expansion 2TB - cannot find partition
Posted: 28 Jun 2014, 06:27
Hi,
I have been using a Seagate Expansion 2TB external drive plugged into my ASUS RT-N56U router streaming movies to my WD TV Live. About a week ago, movie streaming stopped working. I plugged the drive into my laptop. Initially it could be seen in Device Manager and appeared as an un-initialised drive in Disk Management. I cannot access the disk in Windows. Later in Disk Management the disk was detected as a RAW partition.
First time I ran Testdisk Analyse it was creating a log with loads of read errors that made my laptop internal hard disk filling up (generated 100GB of logs at 32% Analyse complete). Therefore I had to abort it and restart again with no logs though I did capture a snippet of the logs and pasted to this post below. It should be noted Testdisk could only recognise the media as a Drive F, not a Disk and could not recognise any partitions.

TestDisk exited normally.
Second time I ran Testdisk Analyse again it took more than 2 days to complete and at the end nothing/no partitions were found.
Please see the attached screen captures and log file extract.
I have lots of movies stored on the drive and would love to be able to retrieve them. Appreciate any help that can be offered.
Thanks.
