I have an other issue.Yesterday i wanted to shutdown my PC.
It takes a lot of time and just the circle turning and turning.
I switched(!) manuall a the power button.

But after my external HDD does not wanted to work fine more.
I began with the testdisk.fdsik -l was shown the right capacity and i even seen how
much is reserved so i was happy.I made a quick scan. But it tells me

error at XX..XXXX no partition found

After a while a saw my main folders, but i havent found anything in it,no files and no subfolders.
I made again quick scan but i got back the same error no partition found.
When i made the deeper scan it takes a lot of time to reach 1% it is strange
i don't have idea no what to do please help.

I can not make a checkdisk because the windows see as a RAW.

Pardon me, while I mean no offense, it may not be possible to read and not be slightly offended. I presume English is not your native language? If I'm correct, English is the only language I speak and therefore, you know at least one more than I do. :)

I do not run 7, but may be soon, so I'm afraid I don't know anything about it. But, I've read that you cannot run Windows 7 off a USB drive, so, am I correct in presuming that the USB drive is extra storage? I have found sometimes that the order in which the BIOS sees drives get messed up when powered off the hard way and your computer may be trying to boot off the USB. When you boot, can you push the F12 key and if so, does it show the order the drives are booting? Is the boot drive your internal C: drive or another? If another, can you select C: and get a different result - and make sure you have no floppy or thumb drive installed.

Now, if all of this was simple to you and you had already checked it out, I apologize. There used to be a time when that caused me problems, so I was thinking just in case you were where I was, you may be able to get past me now.

If this didn't apply to your problem at all, I apologize again. I know what it's like for someone to be rude when asking for help and did not want to be that way with you.

Good luck.

Would it be possible to copy and paste the content of your testdisk.log into your next post?
At least I'd need info from TestDisk / Analyse about your current partition structure (partition table).
Also, how is your disk listed in your disk management console.
What's your OS and disk size?

Hello Fiona,

thank you for your time.I was try to upload the log file, but i was amezed when checked the size of,it was more then 500 mb.

fdisk -l command shows:
Disk /dev/sdc - 500 GB / 465 GiB - CHS 60801 255 63
Partition Start End Size in sectors

without start and end.

Don't really know for what reason.
