During analysis, the scan appears to be hanging at 99% on cylinder 243197 of 243200. Here is the screen:

The disk appears but with a RAW partition in the Windows (Vista) Disk Administrator. It was an NTFS partition. In the Acronis Disk Director (trial version) it appears as NTFS. File Scavenger lists the files, so I could recover them, but they are recent duplicates from another troubled external drive. Please advise.

Did you partition your disk as GIUD partition table?
