64gb MicroSD can't recover partition, screens attached.

#1 Post by Nightstalker1993 »

Hi guys(or girls), I've got a 64GB card I've been using with my phone, then one day I decided to copy some files over from my computer over to the card with a cheap card reader(4gb of documents, many, many files). Half way through, it came out an error and then my pc detected it as unformatted and asked me if I want to format it. I tried using testdisk right after that as I had previous success with it, but everytime after i got past the drive selection menu, the reader will disconnect and reconnect itself, then everything I do subsequently will have 'read error in cylinder xxxx' in every search, so I figured out my card reader was crap.

Anyways, I got another laptop with a built-in card reader and got that working, and if I selected the 'Intel' partition, during the scan it will detect the partition as a FAT12(it's actually exFAT) and nothing can be done after that, even with ddeeper scan

But I read around and someone suggested to use 'None' instead which at first gave positive results. It detected it as an exFAT partition after a quick scan but can't do anything as well as apparently it can't do anything under 'None'.

And then in this screenshot I think I clicked rebuild BS or something, can't remember.

I know all my data inside is intact as I actually managed to recover all my data(from what i can see) via Photorec including videos, but It'll be better to recover the whole partition as that will save me the time and trouble of renaming every single file.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! :D
