Recovering my NTFS and FAT partitions after ubuntu install

#1 Post by fcb0007 »

Hi all,

This is the first time that I am using testdisk and I need your help. Here is what happend: I had dual boot (Windows 7 and Ubuntu) on my laptop. The hard had some NTFS partitions for Windows and recovery. I created one ex2 and one swap partitions for Ubuntu, as well as two FAT partitions for data. It has been like that for a long time. Then yesterday I accidentally formatted the whole disk (fresh Ubuntu installation). As I had some unbacked data on my FAT partitions, I was hoping to recover them. I used Ubuntu live disk and installed testdisk from Universe repository. However, it seems that it cannot recover my partitions. I was wondering if you can help me with this.

Here is content of testdisk log file:

I have also attached the screenshot of testdisk analyze. Unfortunately, it seems that it cannot recover my FAT partitions and files in them. Could you please help me?

Thanks a lot
