Grr!! Partition: Read Error.

I just dropped my desktop external 3TB hard drive (has to be plugged in) less than a foot, which landed on envelops on their side, so not a hard fall...
Now it won't load, when I plug it in, it makes a small beeping sound. Not a mechanical scratching, a machine beep. When I plugged it in the first time it re-installed the drivers successfully and wouldn't show it.. When I run TestDisk it shows \\.PhysicalDrive1 - 4142 / 3950 MiB - CHS 62 255 63
It shows no partition in the list and just says
Partition: Read error
Is this a head issue that is going to have to be shipped off after a minuscule drop or can a data backup program perhaps remedy the situation?
