Recovering Win7 NTFS RAID 0 Partition

#1 Post by hobbit »

Hi guys,
I have two 1TB HDDs in RAID 0 with an Intel RAID Controller, with two partitions: C: of 200GB and D: of 1.8TB.

One of my HDDs is somehow a little broken and while I was away from the PC for a short time, it suddenly faded away to some other place. The monitors went black and nothing was reacting anymore, so I did a hard-reset. Now my C: partition is broken and I cannot boot anymore.
When trying to, Windows boots into recovery-mode and says my partition-table needs to be fixed but is unable to do so.
In recovery console I have access to my original D: which there is accessible as C:, however, while my original C: is listed as RAW and not accessible.

I booted from Ultimate Boot CD and started Testdisk. When selecting the first HDD listed, it shows:
Invalid NTFS or EXFAT boot
1 * HPFS - NTFS 0 32 33 217705...
2 * HPFS - NTFS 0 32 33 217705...
Invalid NTFS or EXFAT boot
1 P HPFS - NTFS 217705 133 29 243201...
2 P HPFS - NTFS 217705 133 29 243201...
The second only shows something like "invalid endmark 0xAA55".

When analysing the first one after selecting Intel, only a bunch of Linux entries is found.
When analysing it after selecting EFI GPT, after a short time 2x MS DATA is shown (with Quick or Deep Search).
However, when trying to select them, it says the harddisk seems too small, like the RAID was not recognized or something like that.

How am I able to recover my C:? I hope you can help me, thanks!

If helpful I will add some pictures when I'm home.
