Windows 7 - Accidental Quick Format

Good Afternoon,

I accidentally quick formatted a secondary 500gb drive in my PC earlier (just had data on). I haven't written any new data to it, although windows has created a 'favourites' folder on it (perhaps due to my previous config of storing My Documents on it).

There is only one partition on it, although I've tried following the instructions and the result of the 'deep search' is just what's on it now, it doesn't show the old data. The instructions/scenario doesn't match exactly what I want to achieve.

Please can someone advise the steps I need to take to either restore the drive as is (one partition with the files on), or access the files to copy and recover elsewhere?

Many Thanks, Alex.

If the partition location and filetype haven't changed, TestDisk will probably not be able to help.
Try PhotoRec instead.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Turns out I have some backups which are reasonably up-to date which I can fall back on, was a good feeling discovering them.

Thanks for your time.
