Hello,
I have the following problem:
my external usb drive (Western digital, 2TB, ntfs partition)
dissapeared in my drive list in windows.
I can still see it in windows diskmanagement, and see that there is a partition on it, although no drive letter is assigned to it. When I try to assign a drive letter, I get the error: unable to .. because the console of diskmanager is not updated.
In testdisk I also see the partition, and can browse the files on the disk.
What should I do to repair it so I can mount it/assign a drive letter to it?
Thanks in advance

Re: unable to assign drive letter windows
Looks like I found it.
apparently uninstalling the drive from the device manager, and then reinserting it solves the problem.
