TestDisk help

Hi,
I'm having some trouble using TestDisk - any help would be much appreciated. My WD My Passport external hard drive is on the blink and asks me to format as soon as I plug in. It is also showing as RAW. I am following the Step by Step guide to use TestDisk and go through the stages selecting my drive G, choosing auto-selected NONE for partition, ANALYSE, then Quick Search. When I press p to list files my first attachment is what is comes up with, then it says 'Write isn't available because the partition type 'None' has been selected, so I try a deeper search. The deeper search is extremely slow, and after leaving overnight was only around 50 cylinders in, is that normal?
Thanks for your time.
Karis

Would it be possible to select your disk instead of your drive and repeat your diagnose?
Your selected drive is a partition only and doesn*t contain any partition table.
That's why Write is not available.

Thanks Fiona.
So I selected disk as per below.
Then Intel, then Analyse and it came up with Partition sector doesn't have the endmark 0xAA55.
Should I proceed to Quick Search from here or is something wrong?
