Unmountable Partition ?

#1 Post by mngld »

Hi, I have a hard drive that was partitioned into two parts - one as a backup, the other for extra data. When I ran a disk utility, I was unable to repair, so I started to use testdisk to see what I could do.

I think the highlighted partition is the one that I'm trying to recover files from.

I'm not sure what I am doing tbh. I tried to "write" the partition but was unable to. This is what I get when I try to load a backup:

I also get a "No file found, filesystem may be damaged" message.

I started to use photorec to recover the files and it may have been working but I ended the process because I wasn't sure if this was the best option. Estimated time for completion was over 20h and I wasn't even sure if I was doing it correctly.

Am I doomed?? Thanks for your assistance.
