Compact Flash Not Readable

#1 Post by eveall »

Alright, so in the middle of taking pictures, my nikon froze and "FOR" appeared in the display screen. When I put the card in the computer, it too tells me i need to format the CF card before I can use it. I've tried lots of data recovery software but nothing is working.

So...when i use TestDisk, it does not find a partition. I do not see the type or anything like the screen shots from the step by step guide. Partition sector doesn't have the endmark 0xAA55.
No partition found or selected for recovery

What can i do next? There are some very important pictures on this card.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Update.

I took the cf card to a data recovery place. They said that unfortunately it is not recoverable. The card thinks it is 32mb (it's actually 32 gb). So while the information is there, there's nothing one can do to retrieve it. Unfortunate as these pictures were of high sentimental value to the client.

Some datarecoevry labs replacing the build in controller to get capacity back or can connect it to their own electronical equipment to make it readable for data recovery?
