Help needed with TestDisk

How can I fix my hard drive drive? I have read the step by step guide here: http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Step_By_Step

I understand that you have to find the partitions and mark the incorrect partitions as delete, and then press "Write partition structure to disk", but the problem is, I don't know which partition is correct/incorrect, and I don't know which partition to delete etc...

Please post the testdisk.log content or a screenshot of the actual partition table (Screen after Analyse or Advanced)

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply.

This is the content of the testdisk.log AFTER I have pressed "Analyse":

No partition is bootable

I have attached the screenshot of the screen directly after pressing "Analyse", please see attached. Pressing "Advanced" produce similar message - "No partition is bootable".

Basically, if I click "Quick search" on the screen, it goes the next screen which shows the 3 partitions in green text (see my previous attached image).

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Many thanks,

Will

Anyone know if i should go ahead and write? I'm worried it might do harm if its not the right decision.

Hi, will007:

Was about to post my own question when I saw yours; I'm basically in the same boat as you.

I've done the "Deeper Search" multiple times, all of my files are showing up, just don't know what to do after that. Don't want to mess anything up, which seems highly probable with this powerful tool.

Hopefully someone knowledgeable can help us here. Good luck.

Set the partition with your files as *(bootable) if you need to start from it, P(rimary) or L(ogical) otherwise.
On next screen, choose Write, confirm, if asked, choose BackupBS and confirm,
Quit, restart your computer. If needed, run "cmd" (right click run as administrator) and type "chkdsk /f d:" (replace d: by the correct drive letter).

When I set the drive (with my files in) as bootable, it says the structure is bad initially, and then if I press the up and down arrow, it updates itself and says "Structure: Ok", is that correct?

I tried running CMD as Adminstrator and running the "chkdsk /f" commands on each of the drive but it just says "The type of the file system is RAW. CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives."
