If you have no partition in your partition table, I wonder how TestDisk lists one under Advanced?

Looks like that's only an unformatted partition?
A partition only has no filesystem nor boot sector.
Only formatting creates a boot sector and file system , on NTFS would be a MFT.
That's why a message appears like:
Boot sector
ntfs_boot_sector: Can't read boot sector.
Status: Bad

Backup boot sector
ntfs_boot_sector: Can't read backup boot sector.
Status: Bad

Sectors are identical.
This message means, that your boot sector is bad (not valid) or you have no boot sector.
Also, "can't read boot sector" can make aware of a bad sector?
Until yet, formatting should be avoided, because it'll override your lost file system.
Datarecovery software would be an idea.
PhotoRec could help.
Info will follow.
But bad sectors can cause that datarecovery software will hang, reading bad sectors.
If you have not as many bad sectors, cloning might help?
First of all, crystaldiskinfo would be important.
Don't remove your disk out of its enclosure.

Hi Fiona,

I ran crystaldiskinfo and it doesn't recognize the ext HD I am trying to repair. It only sees the C:\ drive. So I could not use it.

Right now, I am still running "Rebuild boot sector" for over 13 hours. Isn't this the first step? The LED on the drive is flashing, indicating activity. But I have no idea how long this Rebuild will take. Should I just let it continue?

RebuildBS takes a bit too long.
Read errors can cause that TestDisk hang.
I think you can stop it.
If CrystalDiskInfo doesn't work, you can consider to try an error scan using hd tune free.

Okay... if it displays bad blocks and sectors, how will that fix my disk?
I ran HD Tune error Scan and it showed up all red...Damaged Blocks "100%"

For now, I've no idea about fixing the problem.
Before a diagnose would be important.

SMART Status: Fail
SMART Drive Info:All had Green Check marks except one had a Red X: "Reallocated Sector Count" ID: 5 Value: 133 Threshhold:140 Worst: 133

I ran an Extended Test and here's what came back:
"Test Found Bad Sectors that may be repairable"
I clicked on "Repair" but it said, "Data Stored in Bad Sectors will be lost. It's recommended you back up the drive before proceeding with the repair function".

I did not click "ok" yet. I would like to save the dta if possible. Or repair the Bad Sectors then possibly use a Data Recovery Program to retreive lost data afterwards. Any suggestions? I will not click on "ok" yet until I get your reply. Thanks!!!
