Analyzing - Large Text File

Hello,

Testdisk is currently analyzing a 3TB hard drive that is in RAW status.

Testdisk has been analyzing for about 24 hours and is 44% complete.

It is creating a large text file within the Testdisk download folder. The text file is about 1.5 TB so far.

What do I do with that large text file once the analysis completes?

Thanks.

It's unusual?
RAW means that you already have a partition in your partition table.
Did you see read errors?
Can you confirm through until TestDisk / Analyse and upload a snapshot?
Would be your current partition in your partition table.
If it's ok, on RAW partitions a diagnose of the boot sector would be possible.

I've uploaded a screenshot of Testdisk.

There are lots of read errors. Testdisk is generating a read errors each time it analyses a sector.

Thanks for your help.

The process has completed. Here is the screenshot showing options at the bottom.

Testdisk created a 3.4 TB text file from scanning a 3 TB hard drive.

Any advice? Should I select one of the options?

Much appreciated.

A drive is like a partition and a partition can't contain a partition.
Under TestDisk disk selection, can you select your disk instead of a drive?
Only a disk has a partition table.
So I'd be able to judge your current partition structure (partition table) after confirming at Analyse.

Thank you for your help but I don't understand your reply.

I used the word "drive" because the drive only had one partition.

I appreciate you trying to help but I have a hard time understanding your replies.

I will just give up on using Testdisk and move on to something else.

When your drive would be correct, it' would be possible to run a boot sector diagnose?
But I can't judge it, because I've no info about your partition table.
That's why I've suggested to select your Disk and confirm through until you see Analyse and your current partition structure (your current partition table).
I've uploaded an example!

And the current partition structure (table) of my disk:

When you're sure that your drive is correct, you can run TestDisk / Advanced / Boot to check the status of your boot sector and have a try to list your data.
In case you can upload another snapshot.
Your current snapshot didn't display any file system?
You can watch it here:

Also, I'm concerned about your read errors.
