Partition read error

#1 Post by babas007 »

Hi there,

I have a big issue with Hard Drive wdbaau0010hbk 1TO. First, it displays as it was 2To: strange right? But post importantly, it is detected by Windows/Linux, but not displayed in File Explorer, no letter has been attributed to it.

Using TestDisk, starting Analyse process, it displays "Partition Read Error". Whan can I do?

I did not drop my HD, I was copying very very large files and for some reason, it went wrong :/

Thanks for your help

How is you disk listed in your disk management console?
Is you disk displayed as not initialized?

Yes, and I can't do it. When I tried Windows says "device write protected" (I translated from french... so it might not be the exact message)

What I meant is that, I see other ard drives with letters associated but not the one I'm interested in. It's not displayed in Windows Explorer at all
