How to save a partition from a drive to file

#1 Post by drakko »

I've got a pendrive that one of its partition is ext3 (but not recognized by Windows because it even doesn't have a partition table). I would like to save the entire partition to a raw image, say names sdc3.raw. I only can see the options "Change type" or "List files", but no way to save the partition to another disk. How could I do that?

Note the start/end CHS of the partition.
Go in the Advanced menu, use 'a' to manually add the partition (it will not write anything on the disk) with the start and end location you have noted previously. Choose Image Creation.

I'm not sure what CHS means or how to calculate it. Can I use directly some values shown in the screenshot?
