TestDisk at 103 and still going

#1 Post by bensmanrj1960 »

My Seagate 5TB HD would not mount on my Mac Mini desktop. I used Disk Utility and it originally said, "The volume Seagate HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired." The first image of the Seagate HD in Disk Utility was OK, but the second one was grayed out. I tried to use Disk Utility several times, but it kept coming up with the same message - never actually fixing it.

I'm currently trying to repair it with TestDisk, which has been running for 49 hours now. It reached 100%, but then went beyond that point and is currently at 103% and still going. Does anyone know what's going on? Should I STOP it? Or just let it continue running?

I want to include a screen image, but I don't know how to do it.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.
