Hi Fiona,
Thanks for the explanation.

My question was why I was seeing the Logical and Extended partitions after I changed the Logical partition to Primary. And why do I only see it if after I quit certain menu sections?

Is this due to the "perfect" partition table again?

As long as you have free space between these partitions, as long would it be possible that you get this message.
Windows 7 disk management console allows that you can increase volumes/partitions.
Easily right click on it and use the context menu.
You could increase your third partition til the start of the fourth partition.
Backup your data, before you go to work with partitions.
You can also backup your fourth partition, delete it and create another extended partition.
So you'll be able to use as much logical partitions as you have drive letters available.
