Testdisk stuck at 99% trying to recover exfat fs on 64gb micro sd card [SOLVED]

Solution:
-Use 7.1, 7.0 got stuck
-Recover correct drive (at one point I tried to recover wrong device ;) )
-7.1 detected the exfat correctly and I was able to write the partition info back to card.

Original message:

My Sandisk 64gb micro sd card got corrupted when switching between the phones.
Windows sees the drive as RAW, EaseUS data recovery finds every file with correct folders and filenames, but I won't get any progress with testdisk.
So data is still there, but how to get to it...

I selected first the Intel/Pc partition as the type and quick analyzing did not find any partitions. Deeper scan showed 2 partitions that testdisk labelled as NTFS and was unable to read any files.
Then I tested to analyze card as EFI GPT and below is the scan result. It freezes at 99%

Code: Select all

Disk \\.\PhysicalDrive2 - 64 GB / 59 GiB - CHS 7783 255 63
Analyse cylinder 7783/7782: 99%
  MS Data 4940800 3911967856 3907027057
  MS Data 2048 125042687 125040640
  MS Data 125042687 250083326 125040640
Photorec will get me the jpg files but completely without exif data, so I have thousands of images in random order and ofcourse mp4's and other files are missing.

Do you have the problem with Testdisk 7.1-WIP ?
Try TestDisk, Advanced, List. Can you copy your files ? Please copy and paste the testdisk.log file if you have problems.

Thank you for the reply. Actually the reason why it did not work was that at some point in middle of the night between the attempts I selected my 64gb cache SSD instead of 64gb microsd so it was user error. I tried now with 7.1, selected intel and exfat partition was found. I'm now in process of copying files ;) Thanks for this great software. After I have copied all files that are possible to recover (many have failed), is it possible to write the partition info back to card and then try chkdsk?

I stopped the copy process, since it was generating lot of errors. I rescan the filesystem and wrote it to the card. Now I can access the card from windows and all files that were not listed as red in testdisk filebrowser seem to be intact.
