2TB WD secondary disk - diskpart - clean - format to FAT32

Hallo there.

The tittle says it all.

I have a D: disk, WD 2TB.

I think it was NTFS.

By accident I used the diskpart application to "clean" and "format fs=FAT32"

Now the disk lost everything. I did nothing more to this disk.

My question is if there is a possibility to have back the files.

I did not run testdisk on it by fear not to make things worst.

Thanks.

It may be possible to find the NTFS partition using the NTFS backup boot sector using Testdisk, Analyse, Quick Search, Deeper Search.
Set the partition as P(rimary). On next screen, choose Write, confirm, Quit.

If it doesn't work, try PhotoRec. In Options, enable the expert mode. Start a recovery, use a blocksize of 512, use the defaults otherwise.
Be careful to store the recovered files on another disk.

Thank you for the advice.

I will try it today, but a last question.

To have a kind of "backup" of the disk as it currently is, can i take an image of it?
Clone or Image is the better choice?
Or not to do any of these two?

Thanx again.
