Hi, I am sure I am not alone in that I have started a search for a patition using Testdisk, only to have the computer go to sleep and logout. I have disabled sleep altogether including the drives and somehow it went to sleep anyway. After logging back into the iMac, (Yosemite 10.10.5), I try to restore the Testdisk session only to have to start all over again. Anyway to pick up where I left off? Thanks.

Unless TestDisk has been left, it should continue to search partitions when your computer returns from sleep.

Ok not sure why Testdisk seems to be quitting on its own then. I have run "analyze" trying to repair a Mac HFS partition on a WD 4 TB external drive. I run it for a few days and I have disconnected the keyboard so no family member accidentally logs out of my user. Several times I have discovered what looks like a reboot. Its logged out and the state of the terminal window looks like this: The initial find looks like this: Here is the log:
