Recovering Data from HDD (1% overwritten)

#1 Post by 3m4n »

Hello,

First off, sorry if I'm posting a question where the answer resides in one of these threads.

I'm trying to recover data from a secondary hard drive (E) that I ran clean and STARTED to format (it got to 1% before I quit) with DiskPart in the CMD prompt.

When selecting drive E from the Test Disk menu it says no partitions are found.

Is it even possible to recover any data now that I've already written over a small portion of the hard drive?

PhotoRec should work, run it on this partition, if asked, choose [Whole] instead of [Free].
