GPT drive 2 partitions

#1 Post by spyderrp7 »

Hello, I have an external 3TB hard drive I want to clone with ddrescue.
This 3TB drive is formatted with NTFS, GPT. I did only 1 partition, but the GPT by default makes also a small hidden partition of 128Mbyte.
So in Linux with Parted Magic I see the small partition 128MB as dev/sdc1, and the large 3TB partition as dev/sdc2.
So my question about cloning to image with ddrescue is the following:

Will it be easier to recover from the image file if I just clone the large partition sdc2, or will it be the same recovering procedure if I clone the whole drive sdc (that has also the small sdc1 partition) ?
