Help recovering my data

#1 Post by valdinho6 »

I have an external drive that stopped being accessible after a power failure. It is recognised by Windows, but I get the message asking me whether I want to format it when I hook it up to the USB port.
I am running Windows Vista, and the drive is a 3Tb Intenso drive and is assigned the letter "I".

1. The very first thing I did was the chkdsk and this is what I got:

2. Then I opened TestDisk, chose the PhysicalDrive, and selected Proceed:

3. I chose Intel:

4. Then Analyse:

5. This is what I got so I started a Quick Search:

6. And I got this after it was done. I continued:

7. Then I pressed Enter:

8. No partition was found so I started a Deeper Search:

9. This is what I got. I continued:

10. I got this and pressed Enter:

11. I quit to the main menu:

12. Chose Advanced:

13. Then I chose Boot:

14. I got this and chose Rebuild BS:

15. And I finally saw some folders and files present on the disk. So I pressed Y:

16. I then chose List:

17. Then with the right arrow key I entered the first visible folder (XXX TO FIX):

18. But nothing in that folder was found. (I tried the other folders and the same happened):

When I got back to step 14 and Rebuilt the BS again, and then on step 15 I chose "N", it would show me a list of other files and folders that weren't present on the previous list. And none of the folders had anything found in them again.
So I'm stuck here :( . How do I recover my data? Is it possible that a power failure made me lose all my data?
Many thanks in advance.
