No files found when using testdisk with 64gb sd card
Posted: 16 Sep 2016, 18:31
Backround information:
Card type: SanDisk 64GB Ultra MicroSDXC
SD Reader: SAMSUNG microSD Adapter
File system: NTFS
Mobile device: Samsung galaxy S3 Mini - GT-I9300 / Samsung galaxy S4 - GT-I9505
Android Version: 4.3 / 5.0.1
Computer OS: Windows 7
Situation:
The screen of my Samsung galaxy S4 got damaged. So, in the meantime, I borrowed my bfs phone which is a Samsung galaxy S3 mini. I put my sim card and SD card in the S3 without any issues until, a week into using it, I restarted the phone and an error message about my sim card being blank showed up. The sim card can't be blank as, before I restarted it, I was using the apps on it and viewing pictures and videos on it. So, I looked online to find solutions.
I came across test disk and went through the process to recover my files. But, when it searched for files, it said there were none and, when I did a deeper search, there weren't any files to be found. What else can I do to recover my files? I'd be so upset if those files are gone for good because one minute they were they were there and then the next, they weren't. I have so many important videos, pictures and voice notes on my SD card. Any help with recovering my files would be greatly appreciated.
