USB Drive RAW - Recovered Files But Need To Recover Partition

#1 Post by GivenThePenguin »

I hope someone can help with this issue - a USB Stick converted itself to RAW while data was being copied to it.

I have used PhotoRec to recover a lot of the files on the stick (thank you!) though there are some that are corrupt and others have lost their names. Particularly PowerPoint files which appear to have dumped all the images and backgrounds out of them for some unknown reason.

Ideally I want to recover the FAT partition that was on the disk so the file structure is intact, and so I can get all of the files off the disk in the folders they were stored in and with all the data intact.

When I run TestDisk, it can find the drive and lists it as /dev/sdb 31GB / 28 GiB - CHS 3769 255 63

When I then try to find lost partitions, both the Quick and the Deeper scan return no results.

I have also tried to write the MBR to the disk, but it will not write.

Can anyone offer any advice as to what I might try in order to get the partition back?

Thank you all
