Not sure what the cause and hence fix is

#1 Post by GrandiJoos »

Hi all,

I have a broken hard disk from which I try to recover some files. I did a health check today and it seemed ok (not dead anyway, but not great either).
I booted GParted and ran the disk health analysis (links to dropbox txt file) and testdisk (testdisk.txt on Dropbox). Unfortunately testdisk could not write the partition table to disk and (hence?) couldn't do a deeper scan.

Any help/suggestions are appreceated to help me recover some crucial files.
