QPhotoRec blocked

Hi Christophe,

I have to update the previous message. Unexpectedly, after a couple of hours, the application has resumed to verify the disk sectors and ended the process by recovering 12 files: not what I was looking for!
I rebooted QPhotoRec in Whole mode and see what happens (formerly I started in Free mode)!

Thanks :)

It's better to use TestDisk 7.1-WIP than 6.14.
If necessary, read https://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk.pdf for explanations on how to install the latest version.

Thanks,

for information, the new session started in Whole mode, stopped at exactly the same point of the previous one, i.e. reading sector 569870272. After ten minutes of inactivity, I decided to unmount and mount again the origin partition, and after few seconds, I saw the application starting again and ending the job in forty minutes. Unfortunately were recovered only the same 12 files saved with the Free mode session: not the ones I was looking for!

I will take your suggestion to use TestDisk 7.1-WIP than 6.14 and I will let you know something about.

Claudio :)

Hi,

I am anable to istall the package following your instruction.

I downloaded (into folder /home/claudio/Scaricati) package testdisk-7.1-WIP.linux26.tar.bz2 and executed command

Code: Select all

tar xjf /home/claudio/Scaricati/testdisk-7.1-WIP.linux26.tar.bz2
with no results.

Is the command correct?
Should I give other commands to install testdisk-7.1-WIP?

As you can see, I am not expert ;)

Claudio :)

The command tar doesn't display messages by default.
List your files, a directory named testdisk-7.1-WIP should has been created.

Thanks,

I found the folder and executed TestDisk 7.1WIP by command

Code: Select all

sudo /home/claudio/testdisk-7.1-WIP/testdisk_static
