How to access image.dd?

#1 Post by SyncroScales »

Hello.

I placed an image from one external hard-drive onto another external hard-drive. How to I scan it? I opened testdisk, but do not know what to select.

Thank you.

Select the image.dd file with your file explorer and choose to open it with testdisk or photorec.
Unless the original disk has bad sectors, there is no difference between working with the original disk or with image.dd file .

I am using Windows vista 32-bit.

I right-click the file - properties - I choose to open the program with testdisk and photorec. A small window opens and closes. Not working.

Run "cmd"

Code: Select all

cd testdisk-7.1-WIP
testdisk_win.exe image.dd
You may have to adjust the directory name
