Hi, I have a linux system that on booting yp is reporting duplicate Bad Blocks on /dev/hda2 press ctrl D to continue

Ctrl D simply reboots the system, I dont have any CD's or disks for the OS.

What can I do to be able to run Testdisk or something similar ?

You should create a Linux LiveUSB or LIveCD/DVD and run "fsck /dev/hda2".
See https://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk.pdf there is a chapter on how to create a LiveUSB.
