Try to find your lost HFS+ partition using TestDisk, Analyse, Quick Search and Deeper Search.
If it doesn't work, use PhotoRec.

Hello, I have the same problem with a SanDisk 480 GB in a macbook pro. If I use testdisk I get a ton of HFS partitions but which one should I fix?? Is it a problem of block size? There's no clear articles explaining how to make a testdisk over an SSD used in Mac environment (I mean how to set up block size). I've also used Photorec, because I need to recover a VMDK file from there but I got a 240 GB vmdk while my machine had only 40 GB of virtual hard drive !!! why??

Usually the correct HFS+ partition is the one where you see "+ Backup" at the last line of the screen.

Thank for your reply. But I still don't understand: Can I use testdisk over a SSD ? Which Head, cylinder, sector, parameters should I set for a correct scan?

Well I'm searching everywhere for a solution. I remember to have made the High Sierra Update before cancelling the partition. Now I'm reading that High Sierra automatically updates the file system to APFS. Could this be my problem???
