Partition table lost on hdd laptop

#1 Post by adrii90 »

Hi everyone,

I came here because don't know what else more do. First at all, I'm from spain and my English it's no so god.

Everything began when i wanted to switch on my laptop and this one didn't do anything, only my screen in black. The computer is a lenovo u410 and the HDD is 1000GB from samsung.

As far as I know, I lost the partition table. I had only one partition and w10 installed on it. I want to recover some data but don't know how.

I bought a new sdd and installed ubuntu to use testdisk, but it's so slowly. It takes a week analyzing the hdd and only 5% analyzed.

I tried this a few times and also photorec (even slower), but with a log file and I had to stop it cause the file size filled the new disk (only 250GB).

The matter is, there is something that I can do if I stop the analysis or I have to wait? Because, if the maths aren't wrong, I'll need around 5 months to finish it.

It's really necessary analyze completely the disk to fix it?

In one of the times, I saw the old folders and files and also remember to recover the boot sector, but I think that did something wrong or not like it should be (it was when there wasn't free space on the laptop) cause still have the problem.

For information, now I don't have any logs that can show you, but if it was necessary I'll do screenshots or start again with log file.

Thanks,
Adrián.

Looks like all read operation fails, it's why the log file grows so much.
There is a hardware problem. You should contact a data recovery company.
