Testdisk is unable to find NTFS partition destroyed by GParted

#1 Post by NuLL3rr0r »

I accidentally destroyed a 4TB NTFS external partition in GParted. I scanned the disk using Testdisk in both quick and deep search modes without any luck. EASEUS Data Recovery is able to find the partition and all the files are intact. The problem with EASEUS is I have to copy the data to another 4TB disk with free space which I cannot afford right now.

As a side note, I noticed that my external partition was not aligned so my disk was working slower than expected. I decided to fix the alignment in GParted which I accidentally destroyed. I believe that's maybe why Testdisk was unable to find the partition (due to the wrong alignment).

The forum software kept complaining about wrong file extension, so I'll post a link to the recent log file from a deep search.

Thanks.

As TestDisk has been unable to find the partition, it can not help you...
Looks like you will have to borrow a disk or buy one when possible.
