WD My Passport 2TB not accessible....

#1 Post by alibits »

To cut the long story short, going to delete a SUB-directory and its files, "Windows" gave me an error (".....cannot delete"). From this moment on, this WD My Passport 2TB HDD is unaccessible....

PARTITON and all directories DISSAPERED.
"Windows" sees it as RAW and suggests FORMAT.

After waiting time and waiting time and trying, I managed to get a log (attached) file with "testdisk".

What I notice is that for default partition in this faulty HDD, "testdisk" suggests "Intel" like, while my other WD My Passport (running "testdisk" has default suggestion the second selection "EPI GPT".....

1-Don't knoow if Re-Writng the (non-existent or deleted?) MBR solves half the problem,
and
2-Creating a WHOLE (adding new) partition (as the OLD one) solves the other half of the problem

Is this way "making" the HDD accessible and then CAN I RECOVER Files?

Thanks in advance for Any answer or further suggestion!
