TestDisk "file copy" takes forever!

TestDisk "file copy" takes forever!
I have been able to recover my EXT4 partition and create an image.dd file earlier for that partition. However, when I try to copy files from the image file to another disk/partition, copy never stops and the data written to the destination disk has reached 50 GB, while the original size of my partition/image file was 31 GB only! I had to interrupt it and check the files. I have been able to see some of my files and folders, but not all of them. Any advice?
