How to make accessible the external disk

#1 Post by cmegyes »

Hello.

Now I am now trying to make the external disk accessible and I am trying to understand the steps I am reading. These are the sequences I did:

As I do not know how to continue, for the moment, I closed testdisk (all results were lost) and I will open it again to do all the steps I did to get to this state if necessary or if I have to follow other steps I will do what corresponds .

If someone can tell me what steps to follow

Thanks

List the files of each partition.
If you want to discard a partition, set it to D(eleted). If you want to keep/recover it, set it to P(rimary).
On next screen, verify a last time you have all the partitions you want and choose Write, confirm, Quit.

Note that the current partition table looks ok, you probably don't need to modify the partition table. Check the chapter "Repairing filesystem"...

But, the strange thing is that I chose, as indicated by the procedure, rebuild, and started again to search mft... this means, many hours again of searching
