Linux noob.....restore file from ext3 disk formatted

Hello everyone,
i'm Alex, linux noob from Italy
one of my friend use a very old and strange ubuntu server with samba
the disk was ext3
I saved the file from the samba share (video and photo)
Reinstall baremetal ubuntu server 18.04.1.lts
config ip
config samba
BUT
my friend don't say to may that he use also webmin for upload file from web
the directory was /home/fdos
How can i restore the file (now the disk are ext4)

If you have a copy of the file and you want to copy it back to your server, you can transfer it with sftp (ie using filezilla) or the samba share.
If you have reformated the partition that was holding the file and have no backup, you can use PhotoRec on the server itself but be careful to store the recovered files on another disk.
