PhotoRec couldn't recover any files?

Hello,

I have a flash USB drive that suddenly became inaccessible. When I plug it into the computer Windows always asks if I want to reformat it. I says no and wants to recover the files from it...

I ran QPhotoRec but it gave me the following result:

Does that mean I should really give up? There are many important files on the flash drive. Thank you so much!

Do you get better results if you choose Whole instead of Free ?

Thank you for your response.

The Free option is gray and unselectable so I could only choose the Whole option. I just tried the Whole option again, and still the same result.

Shouldn't there be at least a few files be found, even if they might not be the target files?

If after a full scan (sector by sector), and 0 files were recovered, should I assume that the flash drive be "lowly formatted" somehow? Thank you.

There is no typical outcome of photorec. If you don't find files anyway include all formats and rerun (Q)Photorec.

Without knowing what has been on your drive before and what you excluded in your search you can't draw any conclusion anyway.
