Can an 'Are you sure' be added to Done??

#1 Post by briank »

Hi Brian here,
I just lost 4 days of a scan of a disk, because I pressed enter instead of p.
One keypress and the 4 day scan is gone?

Story: 5tb external, went loopy, recognized as unformatted on pc and mac. Quick scan says its got to search 9767541167 sectors and that took 4-5 days. Just now, its done, I'm happy, it lists a couple dozen possible partitions, I'm going through the list and fat fingered the enter key, instead of the P key (near as I can tell), next screen says 'Ok, would you like to "Quick Scan". Try to no avail to get the previous scan back. <sigh> Can I suggest an option that prevents a user from leaving a scan without a 'are you sure?'. Dream would be a 'would you like to save this scan data so that you could resume this process?'

Thanks for a tool that will surely save my files, much appreciation.

'Brian

In TestDisk 7.1, it's possible to return to previous results when at least a partition is marked as primary or logical.
I have uploaded a new 7.2-WIP where you can always returns to quick or deeper search results.
