Mac OS broken partition table in APFS with password

#1 Post by angelo306 » 23 Sep 2019, 18:52

Hello Mr Grenier,

thank you for your wonderful applications. I have a MacBook Pro with a Samsung SSD of 501 GB. The drive crushed. The files should be there since PhotoRec found many files but without their names. Also the Drive is APFS with password.
I run TestDisk and I got the following:

Code: Select all

Disk /dev/disk3 - 500 GB / 465 GiB - 976773167 sectors
Partition Start End Size in sectors
 P EFI System 40 409639 409600 [EFI System Partition]
>P Mac HFS 2808634 31910715 29102082
 P Linux filesys. data 685036202 693246861 8210660 [L Nd ^Q n $o~S^C]
 P Mac HFS 975241448 976510983 1269536

Structure: Ok. Use Up/Down Arrow keys to select partition.
Use Left/Right Arrow keys to CHANGE partition characteristics:
                P=Primary  D=Deleted
Keys A: add partition, L: load backup, T: change type,
     Enter: to continue
HFS blocksize=67108864, 14 GB / 13 GiB

Code: Select all

I want to ask you the following:
1)why there is a Linux partition though I did not have any Linux installed?
2)The first Mac HFS partition has a 67108864 blocksize and the 3rd Mac HFS partition is 512 size? What is the problem here?

I want to rebuild the partition table with gpt but when I put the numbers it does not mount..

Thank you in advance
