Conversion from MBR to GPT with diskpart made me lose all my data!

#1 Post by kaang »

Trying to install Windows 10 on an older PC made me diskpart clean and convert GPT a disk 0. But I didn't know I'd lose my disk 1, i.e D part as well. I lost all my files in that partition. I haven't done much since that procedure. Tried to boot once or twice from USB but that was it. Now the two drives, disk 0 and disk 1 are one. The data I've lost is mostly images.

I've heard testdisk is quite good with photo recovery suite, but, I'm not sure I can pull that off as it is a bit hard to operate with.

The partition table from DMDE looks like this -I haven't done any full scanning. I fear from Testdisk because it is on CMD. Can testdisk solve this and is the process simple?

TestDisk should be able to recover your previous partition:
