Path: testdisk device (how can I workout how to use this for my PVR HDD?)

It states on this page: https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Step_By_Step

To repair a filesystem not listed by TestDisk, run testdisk device, i.e.

testdisk /dev/mapper/truecrypt0 or testdisk /dev/loop0 to repair the NTFS or FAT32 boot sector files from a TrueCrypt partition.
The same method works with filesystem encrypted with cryptsetup/dm-crypt/LUKS.
testdisk /dev/md0 to repair a filesystem on top of a Linux RAID device.

So what command line should I use for my faulty HDD?
Although I'm running TestDisk from my W10 PC, and the HDD is in my W10 caddy,
this drive came out of a PVR so its filesystem is probably not the same as Windows.

Any ideas?

Please post your testdisk log file. PVRs might use encryption to prevent you from recovering your recordings.

Many thanks
My PVR does not encrypt its recordings.
On a working drive, I can download its recordings and play them on a PC.
And I can also edit them on the PVR or on the PC.

Does TD produce the log file you require after it displays my drives current partition structure?
If so, how long would that take TD to do this, on my 1TB drive?

I want to go from New York to Hamburg by boat. How long does it take?

I can't provide you with a forecast for your expected Testdisk analysis run-time. The lower-boundary is determined by the sustained linear speed of your drive somehow.
