"MFT and Mirror Damaged" question

#1 Post by obrienimages »

I'm new here.

I'm on Windows 7. I ran TestDisk on a "RAW" hard drive and got the message that both the MFT and it's Mirror are damaged and no repair was done.

Do I have any options left to try and repair the MFT to get access to the drive in it's original state (or close to it)?

Thank you

I am not aware of other recovery software that does repairs on a logically broken disk.
Typically recovery software only extracts files and folders from a broken disk to another disk.

As there is an area between repairing a slightly dammaged partition (Testdisk) and finding files using fingerprints (Photorec) your option is to use any recovery software that is analysing the remains of a partition for any kind of metadata information to be able to extract more data in higher precision.

Thanks for the input!

Can anyone recommend a data recovery program that is exceptional at digging for metadata information?
