I got my friend's WD20EARX 2TB sata HDD, which he wanted to repartition (because he found some unallocated space on it but minor to 2tb..) but unfortunately the power was gone during partitioning, and the datas were gone.
After that, he tried to use some windows GUI file recovery program, he recovered his file and directory tree to this particular hdd, but the files are unopenable. Now i got the HDD, tried testdisk, but after Quick Search it says
"The harddisk (2000 GB / 1863 GiB) seems too small! (<4000GB / 3725 GiB)
Check the harddisk size: HD jumpers settings, BIOS detection...

The following partition can't be recovered:"
it has EFI GPT partition table, now I'm running Deeper Search, but it taking sooo long.

There might be a trick to speed up diagnose.
If a partition is found and you can recognize it through a label you can press F (upper case) and TestDisk jumps to the end of the partition and scans for the next one.

TestDisk can find more partitions during a scan through remnants and it's possible that there is no need for.
In case there is no reason to recover it/them.
Just set up thoose partitions where you'd like to recover.
In some cases partition structur ended after disk limit, it was possible to increase size of the disk/cylinder using the menu geometry.
It makes sense, if a partition is found during a scan and dispays the label.
