As many people in here I'm afraid I did a terrible mistake. :-/
Trying to shrink an ntfs partition with bad sectors. So...
* ntfsresize -s 250000M -b /dev/sda3 => worked
* Used gparted to set the partition to the right size (it was still spanning the whole disk)
By distraction I used gparted instead of fdisk. I've deleted the partition (no harm done I presume) and I recreated it.
I guess the recreate did mkfs.ntfs. As a result the partition is empty. No files at all. I guess I quick formatted the partition.
Is there a way to recover from this ?
Thanks in advance...
PS. Of course no backup.
Possible to recover from mkfs.ntfs ?

Re: Possible to recover from mkfs.ntfs ?
Try TestDisk, Analyse, Quick Search, Stop, Deeper Search, try to list the files from each partition. If you are very lucky, you will see your files.
If it isn't the case, run PhotoRec on the partition http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec_Step_By_Step
