#1 Post by qaz112 »

hi

with TestDisk
am looking for some guidance for this problem

i have a hitachi 1 tb disk in a remote usb enclosure. sata. i get error saying corrupted and data un readable

sometimes the disk can be seen in computer management and other times not.

its a single partition for data storage only

ive read instructions ans got as far as:
Repair An NTFS Boot Sector
Recovering An NTFS Boot Sector On An NTFS Partition Using Its Backup
Rebuilding An NTFS Boot Sector On An NTFS Partition
Repair An NTFS MFT .

i would need to know which of the above would apply to my problem, so i can proceed

i have just brought and old acer pc with 2 sata ports, one for hd and one for dvd drive, does anyone know if i can use the dvd drive port to hook up this problem hd.

Remove the disk from the USB enclosure and connect it directly via SATA. XP SP3 handles disk bigger than 130GB (since SP1), so it should be ok. Once it's done, please paste the error message reported by TestDisk.
