Portable Hard Drive unreadable, Cannot open file system

Hi,

After trying to install a program on my pc from an install file on my hard drive, It seems to have corrupted my entire hard drive. Now, whenever I plug the hard drive into my computer (or any computer, I've tried about 3) windows tells me I need to format the drive, which I do not want to do as I would lose all my work! Please help.

My portable hard drive has become unreadable by windows. I'm getting the error
"H:\ is not accessable , The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable"

In Windows disk management the drive is showing up as RAW file format

When using the analyse option in testdisk, I get the following screen

Which seems to be correct, as I only have one partition on the hard drive. Then I select quick search and find the same partition

I then hit P to list files and the message displays "Can't open filesystem. Filesystem seems damaged"

After reading some other posts on this forum, I have entered the "advanced" menu (filesystm utils) and selected the boot option. The following information then displays

If the boot sectors are listed as ok, do I still need to Rebuild BS? Please help, I have a lot of files on my hard drive which I cannot afford to lose. Any advice would be appreciated

Looks like your file system is damaged?
You can try to run Rebuild BS.
As long as you don't confirm at write, you're not going to change anything.
If you're able to list your files, you can copy them to another intact disk/partition.
If Rebuild BS doesn't work, you'd need data recovery software.
