Can'open filesystem. Files seems damaged

#1 Post by Node »

Hi Good Day.
I'm new in the forum and in handle testdisk.
I have a external HDD Hitachi Touro Pro 750Gb to store media data (No booteable partition).
All was going pretty good with Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows Vista with this HDD Hitachi Touro Pro
but I upgraded Ubuntu and after this I can't open the HDD in Ubuntu and Windows Vista too.
Yesterday I run testdisk with deeper search, it take 7 hours and the end show me 2 file options Image
and I click P and appears me with the first option on D HPFS - NTFS Image
With the second option D FAT12 is the same Image
How I must read the 2 partitions. I thought that all external HDD was on FAT32
And in the end, Testdisk showme no options
What can I do?, I lost all my files on this external HDD?
I read another problems like this but I can't understand at all if this problem have solution.
Greetings.

I think the NTFS choice is the correct one. Set this partition as P(rimary) or *(bootable). On next screen, choose Write, confirm, if asked, choose BackupBS and confirm, Quit.
